CEO Transition – From George to Tim
From George to Tim
Express Scripts President
and CEO, Tim Wentworth.
On May 4, 2016, Tim Wentworth became the third CEO in the history of Express Scripts.

He replaces George Paz, who has retired as Chief Executive Officer, but will continue as Chairman of the Board.

"I am honored to lead Express Scripts, a vital healthcare company powered by 30,000 people who are passionate about delivering the best pharmacy care to patients," said Mr. Wentworth. "Every day, we put medicine within reach of 85 million people by uniquely combining innovative solutions, specialized care and focused, industry-leading scale. I am excited about our future and how we will continue to change healthcare, while delivering better value, service and care to clients and patients."

"Tim is the right person to lead Express Scripts into the future," said Mr. Paz. "I have a high level of confidence in Tim that is shared by all of us who have seen him drive performance. I look forward to working with Tim, our senior leadership team and our Board as we continue to deliver for clients, patients and shareholders."

Mr. Wentworth was named President of Express Scripts in February 2014. As President, Mr. Wentworth was responsible for all aspects of the company's core business, including sales and account management, information technology, operations, research and new solutions, home delivery and specialty pharmacies, and supply chain management. Prior to his appointment as President, Mr. Wentworth served as Senior Vice President and President, Sales and Account Management, with responsibility for Express Scripts' core sales and account management teams, including employer groups, health plans, and new sales.

Diversity, Inc. announced that Express Scripts earned a place on the 2016 25 Noteworthy Companies for Diversity list. This is a significant accomplishment and highlights our continued commitment to workplace diversity.

“While we didn’t make the Top 50 list this year – which is our goal – we did make this list, said Vice President of Diversity & Includision, Susan Stith. "I cannot tell you how excited I was by this accomplishment and to be a part of the Diversity Inc. rankings. We should all be very proud."

Diversity Inc. uses the same criteria (Talent Pipeline, Talent Development, Senior leadership Commitment and Supplier Diversity) to determine this the 25 noteworthy companies list that is used for the Top 50. Typically, companies that make the 25 Noteworthy list, are in line for the Top 50 in subsequent years.

“I love where we’re heading and all that we’ve done, especially with our ERGs. I see us on the Top 50 list in the very near future,” says Stith.

DiversityInc’s annual survey – tracking the nation’s top companies when it comes to hiring, retaining and promoting women, minorities, people with disabilities, LGBT and veterans – is the most rigorous, data-driven survey of its kind, gauging detailed demographics based on race/ethnicity and gender at some of the largest U.S. employers.

“We saw 23 companies increase their standings on the DiversityInc Top 50 and Specialty Lists in 2016, and more than 1,000 companies submitting for contention on the list,” said Luke Visconti, DiversityInc’s founder and CEO. “We are very encouraged by the commitment and dedication to diversity management shown by these top performing companies.” See who else made the 25 Noteworthy list and who made the Top 50.
